Each year Laguna Beach, a famous seaside community and historic artist colony, turns into an outdoor studio with the always-exciting Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational. This event showcases the nation’s top plein air landscape painters who compete for prestigious prizes and participate in the week-long festivities including public paint outs, environmental awareness activities, and educational events. Culminating with the highly anticipated Collectors’ Party and Public Sale.
This year the Invitational will be held at the Aliso Creek Inn in the majestic Aliso Canyon – The “Yosemite” of Laguna Beach and the location of the area’s original homestead built by the Thurston family, the ancestors of current Laguna Mayor Kelly Boyd. This event celebrates the artistic legacy of Laguna Beach.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19
Collectors’ Party/Soiree – “Coastal Chic at Aliso Creek” at Aliso Creek Inn
6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Attendees at this event will have the first chance to view and to purchase, in advance of the general public, the artworks created throughout the week by the participating plein air artists. Public Art Show and Sale at Aliso Creek Inn

The week-long event culminates with an exciting
Public Sale free to the public, and welcomes over 500 enthusiastic guests who have the opportunity to meet the participating artists and purchase additional paintings.

Easels will be set up all around the colorful Sonoma Farmers Market for paintings to be created and sold on the spot!
Artists will have an hour and a half to take in all the vivid colours, sights and smells of the Farmers Market while creating a painting for you to take home with you that night!

Over a five-day period, artists will have painted picturesque scenes throughout Talbot County. They will select their two best works to be judged in the Plein Air-Easton! Competition.
This event offers the only opportunity to see the entire competition show!
Be one of the first to experience and purchase paintings during this private ticketed only event. Enjoy the company of friends, a glass of wine, hors d’œuvres and conversation with the participating competition artists. The exhibit will evolve all evening as paintings are sold and new paintings take their places. Competition paintings will be on sale starting at 7pm when the doors to the Academy Art Museum open to ticket holders.
Winning paintings will be on display and be able to purchase all weekend.
